How to create static page and add link to menu

Create static page

In TomatoCMS 2.0.7 and the earlier versions, it's not easy to create a static page such as About, Contact page.
(The "static" does not mean that your page content is static or fixed)

TomatoCMS 2.0.7.1 has a new built-in module for this purpose.
You can create a page easily by following the steps below:

  • In the back-end section, go to Modules > Manage static pages > Add new page.
  • At page of creating new page, enter the page name, description and content to the form.

You can click on Browser button (1) to upload images and then, select the thumbnail size from list of available thumbnails which was generated automatically (2).
The thumbnail will be inserted into the content of page at the current position.

Finally, click on Save button at the end of form to save our page.

Manage static pages

To view the list of static pages, click on Modules > Manage static pages > List pages menu.
At this page, you can click on - or + sign to collapse or expand page and its children pages (1).
To edit or delete page, please move the mouse over the page row and you will see the links for editing/deleting page (2).

You also can change the order of pages by dragging and dropping page to wished position and press the Save Order buttons (3).

Add page link to menu

Before performing this step, ensure that you already actived Link Provider machine. If you haven't, check this guide.

After doing required steps for activating Link Provider, you can insert static page's link to menu by:

  • Click on Modules > Build new menu menu
  • Click on You can use the Links Provider to input the URL quickly link (1)

The Link Provider shows all available links grouped by some sections, such as Homepage, Page details, Category details, etc.

  • Click on View page details to see the list of static pages (2).

Click on static page that you want its link to be inserted in the menu (3).
Then you will see our page has been added as new menu item (4).

You can click on the page name to edit the label of menu item (5) or delete the menu item by clicking on Delete link (6)

Finally, press Save button to save the menu.

Back to front-end, and you will see static pages are available in menu:
